Four days of dancing in the Rocky Mountains, camping beneath the stars and swimming in a sea of art installations. Accompanied by dozens of yoga classes, inspiring workshops, and countless live painters tucked in every corner of Hummingbird Ranch; Colorado’s premier transformational festival, Sonic Bloom, is a truly unique adventure that captivates and intrigues everyone who enters its gates.
2016 marks the eleventh year of this dynamic event held in the “Spanish Peaks Country” of Southern Colorado from June 16 to 19. The festival itself was founded upon the idea that we are all connected to each other, the idea that we can become unified through intentional experiences. Every summer solstice, hippies, healers, acrobats, cannabis lovers, musicians and artists alike congregate for a weekend of creation, connection and diverse performances.
In the past, Sonic Bloom has brought artists such as Bassnectar, STS9, Pretty Lights and Beats Antique among a myriad of local bands and DJs. Every year, this festival pushes the musical envelope, showcasing an army of cutting edge performers. This year’s headliners include Tipper, a highly skilled turntablist; Bonobo, a downtempo producer; and EOTO, an improvisational two-piece band. Hundreds of artists will cross the three stages over the course of the weekend, so there’s something here for everyone.
On Hummingbird Ranch, you can take a dip in the babbling brook, explore the mesmerizing art gallery or delve deep into meditation with mindfulness experts. Enjoy a local beer, hula hoop the day away or simply bask in the sunshine. A joint of Chocolope would be a perfect addition to a stroll through this oasis. A hybrid of Chocolate Thai and Cannalope Haze, this strain renders optimism, creativity and motivation. The uplifting sativa will provide a euphoric feeling, a perfect compliment to your day of exploring new music and art. You’ll feel lively, animated and ready to take on everything the festival has to offer.
