With an emphasis on experience, Oregon growers came together at the Cultivation Classic in a head to head competition that highlighted sustainable practices. Here, the only competitors allowed to make submissions do not use synthetic or salt based products to grow their cannabis.
In this competition, flower was king. There were no categories for edibles or concentrates, but that doesn’t mean they did not represent. Drip Ice Cream gave out samples and brought their art installation, “Drip Drop.” Being inside the “Drop” is an immersive experience, mimicking the effects of a cannabis edible through light and sound.
Thanks to clever planning, the event also featured a beer garden. For the first time, you could consume a brew at a cannabis event, provided you remained in the designated area. “It is very pivotal that we have an event where you are equal distance from cannabis samples and beers,” smiled Steph Barnhart, event manager.
