7 Points Oregon Grow
We recently had the opportunity to visit one of my favorite growers since I entered the cannabis game a couple of years ago. 7 Points Oregon started off in 2014 as one of the top Medical Only farms in the state, providing much-needed safe, clean medicine for Oregon patients. Time and good fortune has allowed 7 Points to make the challenging leap to full-time recreational sales as of last year, and boy, are they killing it! Located in SE Portland, 7 Points is one of the few Clean Green Certified grow facilities in the state. Their mission statement? “Our intention is to elevate the potential of our plants with emphasis on sustainability and love.” So what does that mean to the average consumer?
7 Points runs their business on a fairly simple three-part credo: First, whatever they do needs to be sustainable. For instance, they reclaim the water they use for climate control, saving the company—and the city—a whopping 65 gallons of water a day. They’ve also digitized their entire grow so they can review data and determine lighting or nutritional improvements. Second, whatever they decide to grow needs to be the absolute best. The two faves in the shop right now are Voyager 1, a powerhouse combo of flavor and potency, and the indica-heavy Pre-98 Bubba Kush, which is a current favorite of mine. In fact, besides the 20 or so strains they grow at any given time, they boast a vault of seeds awaiting their day to see if they’ll hold up to 7 Points standards. Finally, everything they do needs to make business sense; they have a dedicated staff of 14 who depend on everyone making good decisions.
7 Points is all about process. By breaking down growth cycles and testing the soil, water, and even the air circulating around the plants, these folks have made a promise to the state’s consumers that their products are going to be of the cleanest, highest quality around—period! You won’t have to look very hard for 7 Points products in Oregon dispensaries, and I highly recommend you do!
