Pulling up to The Herbal Cure, you can’t help but be taken in by its abundant charm. An old train car sits in the parking lot, evidence of the shop’s past life as a lumber mill. Brandon, the owner, took me on a walk through the welcoming, cozy shop.
We looked through half the nearly two dozen strains on their shelves, including some of their award-winning Lemon Skunk and Frankenberry. Everything is organic, hand trimmed and grown in coco—a method many growers see as an effective middle ground between soil and full hydro processes. Upon seeing their results, I’m inclined to agree.
One of the highlights of The Herbal Cure is their relationship with Essential Extracts. The shop boasts fully stocked fridges of some of the cleanest solventless rosin I’ve ever seen from Nick Tanem, one of the premier extractors in Colorado.
Sitting down with Brandon was a distinct pleasure as well. Our conversation spanned a whole gamut of cannabis industry topics, including his humble beginnings. He and his wife were the first budtenders in the shop, trimming and filling every role as necessary. It was refreshing to talk to someone who has not only dedicated their life to the pursuit of quality, legal cannabis, but has such a broad understanding of the industry’s impact on modern American society. It’s apparent that Brandon’s attitude and ethics as an owner have made The Herbal Cure the success it is today.
