Event Recap: Dope Industry Awards Washington 2016

DOPE INDUSTRY AWARDS WASHINGTON 2016

The Fourth Annual DOPE Industry Awards Washington, presented by IONIC, was the red carpet event of the year for the ever-growing Washington State Cannabis Industry. The event was hosted for a second consecutive year by the charismatic Kitty Kitty Bang Bang who brought down the house with her rendition of “Let it Grow.”

DOPE Magazine honored over 100 Washington cannabis businesses and industry professionals by hosting a “White Winter Wonderland” themed night that awarded 25 different categories ranging from “Activist of the Year” to “Cannabis Store of the Year.” All votes took place over a thirty-day-period in which the public cast their vote. The annual “Emery Award,” which recognizes one person who has dedicated their life’s work to furthering the cannabis movement, was given to none other than Vivian McPeak, the co-founder of the famous ‘protestival’ Seattle Hempfest, which celebrated its 25th anniversary this past summer.

The night could not have happened without the support from the DIA’s Title Sponsor, Ionic and Supporting Sponsors, Bare Naked by Suspended Brands, CannaCon, Evergreen Market, Greenside Recreational and Wikileaf.  Additionally, the award’s show presenters, performers, nominees and award winners all enhanced this special night with their personal flare…a night that won’t soon be forgotten.
