Since California passed Prop 215 in 1996, Californians have been ordering their medical marijuana through delivery services. For the past 20 years, through the trials and tribulations of the law, these services have stirred up an influx of players. Although not as old at the Prop itself, the C.R.A.F.T. team is far from new. In 2012, this group of medical marijuana enthusiasts officially ignited their delivery service out of Northern California’s East Bay. Their business, Citizens Research Alliance For Therapeutics, is a hidden jewel fueled by funk. Amongst the competition and continuously fluctuating laws in California, their kindhearted staff has mastered the skills of delivery by curating their own business structure as a work of art.
Their office is full of personality and an abundance of trophies. The collaborative group at C.R.A.F.T. truly embraces the ability to pivot—maintaining compliance and adhering to the law is of the utmost importance to them. The team’s values derive from a patient-centric approach, with emphasis on establishing trusting relationships with the medical community. Passionate staff expressed an understanding that many of their customers are so ill, they’re unable to physically get to a dispensary. It is C.R.A.F.T.’s responsibility and obligation to provide patients an equally attentive experience. Their drivers are quite knowledgeable and kind in nature—we refer to them as ‘mobile budtenders.’
“It’s monumental that we provide our own product because it allows for more quality control. As the original Bay Area C.R.A.F.T., we are proud to serve the discerning Cali-palette with love.”
What sets C.R.A.F.T. apart from many delivery services is their mouth-watering menu. All tested by SC Labs and Clean Green Certified, admiring their flowers and brand-name extracts and local edibles, I felt like a kid in a candy store. Their medicine is stored beautifully in amber glass jars with custom artwork. C.R.A.F.T.’s production stays consistent with market demand by cultivating some of their own strains such as Black Cherry Funk. This delicious 50/50 mood-regulating hybrid is a collaboration with artist George Clinton, a close friend of the C.R.A.F.T. family. Along with offering a plethora of specials, such as 5g eighths, they have a compassionately tiered pricing structure based on the size of the order combined with the driver’s travel distance. They serve a vast part of the Bay Area—from San Rafael all the way down to San Jose.
